I bought these TRW forged pistons off eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4510605776

I called TU and talked to Chris, he warned me that they had tried TRW's in the past and they cracked, he recommended Wiseco's. I'll need to buy rings for the TRW's, and have my rods machined for the .927 wrist pin if I decide to use them so the price difference between new Wiseco's and these TRW's is about $150.

My question is, does anyone else have experience with the TRW forged pistons that I won in that auction? When I was telling Chris about them he acted like he had never heard of them before, and I don't see anyone running them currently... so maybe they're junk? Anyway, I'd just like anyone else's opinion, no offense to Chris but he does sell pistons and I'd like to hear from someone with absolutely nothing to gain.

Thanks,
Josh

I was looking for some TRW forged pistons but couldnt find they made any. As far as I know TRW makes good forged pistons for V8's and I have seen them take alot of abuse in the magazines for nitrous flogs (Hot Rod, Car craft) so they should be good pieces...

I am sorry I cant give any first hand experience but from what I have read TRW makes good stuff.

Hope this helps.

Jeff

Got a part number on them?

my dad actually bought trw pistons through a chrysler dealership he works for . it was about 10 years ago . had them in his motor till last winter. they never broke or cracked. 10 years of beating on them with 20psi and only thing wrong was the ring lands were starting to get mushroomed out .
