Hi all, i'm thinking of buying an 88 shelby daytona thats knocking. My question is can i use any 2.2 or 2.5 block? Or should i eat the downtime and re-do the original one? BTW, i'm new here, dont actually own a TD at the present, but have been craving one for a while. Previous TD's were
84 turbo laser
85 shelby z
Pristine 87 c/s
88 shelby daytona
I really miss driving these cars, and have been looking for a nice one for awhile now. The one i'm looking at only has 65k on it.

just redo the engine youll be better off in the long run and get the turbo rebuilt while your at it due to all of the metal that is in the oil from the bad bearing

Thanks for the reply, I decided not to buy it because i really want a 5 speed. Still would like to know the differences between all the blocks. I know the t2's have forged internals, but thats about it.
