Living in Europe is rearing its ugly head as far as owning US cars here again! Oil filters...I hear some of you guys are running Mustang 5.0 Liter filters? Its screws on no probs? I ask, cause Chrysler Europe doesnt offer the 2.2 Liter filters anymore., and I can go on Post (US Army) here and they have cases of 5liter filters for like 2$ each.....does it work??

I ran the 5.0 filter for a while and change to a filter for the 3.3/3.8 caravan engines so I didn't have to buy 2 different filters.
Thanks

I've ran the 5.0 filter for about 40000 mile now with no problems.
it holds about an extra half a quart too

Groovy! All years work then?? Say from 85 to 2001(2) models with 5.0 liter engines? If so, I'll grab some...

well it should if there is room for it depending on what type of vehicle it is.

At the dealership i work at when you sometimes get a 2.2/2.5 it gets a 05281090 just like a v-8 or most 6 cylinders. the normal four banger filter is a 04105409 and for the 2.4 turbo and 3.7 v-6 it is a 04781452BB.

so if a 5.0 filter wont fit then try one of these they should be avaible from any dealer

I use a 5.0 filter (Mobil1 301) on my 2.5 AND my 3.3. Works on both! I use the one from about '88; I don't know if they changed filters on the later model Fords
BTW, I used to work at Schweinfurt when the Scouts were there.

I beleive the filter for a Viper will also work...you shouldn't have much of an issue getting one of those....

i run a system 1 canister filter that you take apart clean and reassmeble and screw it back on and yes i guess you could say it is a pain but its better then the local auto parts not having your filter that you prefer and the system 1 filters just as good if not better then a paper filter
