You will need to use the 2.5 dipstick setup.

^Yup, it's longer because that the pan holds a quart more oil.

????

Dude just re-read mine and daniels posts, he said you need the 2.5 dipstick and I said you'll need to run the extra quart.

Don't forget the oil pump pickup, its shorter on a 2.2L. If you don't run the 2.5 pu, you will get oil starvation on minor cornering or braking!

It won't. Just use the 2.5 pick up. You'll have an additional quart of capacity if you took out the balance shafts. You'd also need a windage tray.

I built up my 2.5 motor and put a 2.2 dipstick, pickup and oil pan on it. I think running a 2.2 pan is better. The 2.5 pan is too deep, oil sloshes around more and is more prone to oil starvation with out some baffles (etc). A 2.2 pan is better as it doesn't slosh around the oil as much, better ground clearance as well. Dipstick tubes are the same (just 2.5 dipsticks are longer). And oil pickups are very important. 2.2 pickup with 2.2 pan and 2.5 pickup with 2.5 pan and you're set. Good luck.
