the 2.2 shouldnt have the balance shafts right ?? also what else would i have to swap to make the 2.2 a 2.5 ???

First of all is it a commonblock 89-up. If it is all you gotta do is get a cb crank and go with 2.5 pistons. rods are the same. If its orginally a 2.2 cb it doesnt have balance shafts so you donthave to worry about plugging the oil hole. Also go with a 2.5 oil pan and pick up tube. If your not using a balance shaft ,its very smart to put a windage screen in the 2.5 pan.

What block?
Non CB cranks & CB cranks do not interchnage due to the snout.

But yeah, pistons & crank are all that's needed.

use the 2.2. non-balance shaft pan and pickup, if it's a 90+ CB then a 2.2 will have balance shafts.

I thought the 2.5 turbo blocks were built were built with a bit more meat on then to withstand higher horsepower that can be generated by the 2.5l turbo's. If yu are thinking of more horse power down the road maybe you shuld check if this info is correct.
Thanks

Na, 2.2 and 2.5 turbos share the same block, hence the name "common block". But they are more beefy than the 88 and earlier blocks.
