I am wonderign who has converted an N/A omni to T2 status. I know the mechanical parts is basically a bolt in but what im wondering about is how to splice in or convert the whole car over to run the T2 motor. I have a 88 Daytona Shelby complete so I have all the parts. just wonderign the steps to swap it all over to the omni electrically.

first read the sticky at the top of this forum

then go to thedodgegarage.com ; go to 'turbo database' ; click on # 24 "How to convert a 85-87 Turbo I vehicle to Turbo II status "

you'll need some wiring diagrams like these
http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/3740/WIRING.HTM

and somewhere there is a page specific a NA/TBI -> turbo conversion but I can't find it right now ; anyone help with the link ?

amywayz the above links plus scanning old threads in this forum will be PLENTY to get you started

PS I am putting the finishing touches on the exact same swap so PM me if you want more..

Did you find yourself an omni? If so, congrats and what year? Is the 88 daytona a t2 car?

If you've got an 88/89 omni, and the daytona is T2, you should have everything you need for a smooth conversion. All the wiring should convert over at the bulkhead fairly easily (depending on your ability to read fsm wiring diagrams and to splice wires).

Since N/A stick omni's are sort of rare, I'm guessing that you got an auto. If that's the case and it's an 88/89, then that's good because the axles will work for your conversion, but you'll have to find an omni 5 spd driver's side motor mount - the daytona one won't bolt up to the omni's frame and the omni auto one won't bolt to the 555.

That's about all I can think of off the top of my head. Good advice and links in the post above me. There's quite a few people on this board who have done the same/similar conversions, so you should be able to find plenty of help around here.
