Cheap Air Fuel Gauge
http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...p?Ntt=Air/Fuel
EGT's are all about the same.
I recommend Autometer for every gauge you can think of.
Your aware that if you have an EGT you dont really need an Air/Fuel gauge?
An egt is alot quicker at telling you if your rich or lean.
The EGT's usually come with the probe but be ready to spend at least 120bucks for one.
The Air/Fuel gauge will run off a stock O2 sensor so no additional sensors are required.
I recommend getting an EGT, Oil Pressure, Water Temp, Trans temp "If you have an automatic"
These 3 gauges in combination will tell you eveything is okay with your motor and will tell you when somethings not.

I have both A/F and later intalled an EGT. I don't even pay attention to the A/F anymore. The only thing the A/F gauge can show you is what the O2 sensors are saying. Under WOT, I can set the egts to 1250, then turn down the fuel to make the egts 1500. At both egts, the A/F gauge reads exactly the same. You can't fine tune off an A/F gauge. Its only real purpose is to make sure you are not going drastically lean.

I think I understand. If your egt gauge tells you that you are at 1250 degrees at full boost, then that means you are somewhat rich. If it says you are at say 1550, then you are on the lean side. With this info, you can adjust your fuel accordingly to get the temp you want (I shoot for 1450, some go higher). However, with only an A/F gauge, you won't be able to differentiate between 1250 and 1550. They will both show green on the gauge.

thats kinda expensive. You can get the EGT gauge and pyrometer for $119 from summit. Just go to www.summitracing.com then type in the part number ATM-4344

Some more info about the gauge. it is different "New autometer ULTRA-LITE 0-1600deg, model 4365, Exhaust Gas Temp-pyrometer gauge, w/ hp fast reacting EGT probe" and the instructions http://www.autometer.com/download_instruction/651h.pdf
and this
"The gauge im selling has a separate power box for the probe and the gauge, you had to buy the probe separately"
This is probably getting annoying, lol. But this sinus infection is making my head a bit cloudy, and making it harder to understand this stuff.

I guess I can't judge that probe until I've tried it. My regular autometer from summit seems to read plenty fast. I know I could find a much better place for $120 (a set of injectors) than in a egt probe.
