i bought a computer on ebay, it was advertised as an 89 5 speed no a/c cruise 2.5 turbo computer. i recieved it a couple days ago, scratched into the cover is v6 no start. i questioned him on it and he said it worked and was from his 89 turbo van with a 5 speed non a/c with cruise. is there any way to tell if its good or not and if its for an 89 5 speed turbo van. he said i could return it if i wanted to, but said his van was in an accident and he pulled this from it.

Plug it in and see if it works! You MIGHT be able to tell what it's for if you plug it in and use a DRB diagnostic tool to read it. It should not REALLY matter if it's for an auto or a 5-spd, it'll still work.

plug it into the automatic while it still runs. 2.5 manual vs. 2.5 auto is not a huge difference, you should be able to cruse around with it. Also, if it dosn't plug in, at all you'll know you got screwed over.
