Alrighty.. I've been patiently building my Omni over the winter and it's almost time to fire it up. Just so everybody knows, this is a '85 GLH running '87 Turbo-2 electronics w/ 1pc intake manifold and a stock T2 rad/IC assembly. These are the parts that the car is currently equipped with:

2.2L, pulled last summer from a 100k mi. New Yorker, works great
"G" head, fresh valve-job, milled 0.005"
Garrett T3 S60/0.63 w/ 2.5" SV
2.25" IC pipes, 1g DSM BOV
3" turbo-back exhaust
Stock fuel rail, stock T2 injectors, stock AFPR.

Now, my question pertains to fuel.. Since I'm running a 2-bar MP cal and stock fuel, with a turbo that's bigger than stock, not to mention the intercooler and exhaust, I'm guessing that I won't be able to run quite as much boost as I used to. What's the best way to figure out how much boost to run? I have an EGT gauge with the probe installed in one of the runners. Should I simply set it really low, then work my way up until I see EGT numbers ~1450*? This engine has cast pistons. Should I even try to use the stock T2 injectors with this setup?

Also.. Would it be worth it to upgrade to the 3-bar MAP/AFPR/Cal/+40's given the rest of the parts installed on the car?

Lets say I'm broke and +20's will have to do.. Can I simply install them w/o turning down the fuel pressure, or will an AFPR be neccesary?

Thanks!

Given that turbo you're running, I'd definatley go for a custom cal with larger injectors. If you just slap in larger injectors you'll be running really rich during regular driving and during boost as well. Just save up for the custom cal and injectors. I know they're pricey, but that way you don't have to worry about pesky 14psi limits or trying to trick the computer.

What about in the mean time.. Just keep the boost less than 14psi with the stock injectors and watch the EGT gauge?

no, 14psi is the limit on the stock cal with the stock turbo and no IC. I know you want to crank the boost up for now, but it will be worth it to wait for a cal than rebuild your engine. Keep at stockish boost levels.
