I'm looking at a few '86-'87 Chargers right now. One of them is an '86 with a carbureted 2.2. I didn't think L bodies had carbs in '86, but the guy says it's a carburetor. I think it's probably a throttle body injection setup.

Anyhow, if it's a carb or TBI, I'm going to swap it to a Turbo setup if I get it.

What cars can a Turbo wiring harness come from? Omnis, Turismos, Chargers only? Will other cars' engine harnesses swap directly in, like an '85-'86 Turbo New Yorker or something like that?

I'll have to run wires to power a fuel pump if it's a carbureted car (and if I get it).

Anyone have any complete Turbo wiring harnesses like what I would need lying around?

My Horizon was an 87 that was carbureted. I used a GLH-T harness for my swap. Seemed to be the easiest to use, and fairly readily available.

Una has done the swap in a 83 charger and also and 88 Horizon. He has a couple threads on what he did.

my 87 omni is carbed now. I'm doing a megasquirt swap with a 2.5. Should be friggin sweet. May even go holset turbo. But I think megasquirt is a fairly easy route to go if you know what you're doing, if not, then grab a wiring harness and computer from another vehicle. I've heard it's a big pain

****EDIT*****
don't forget the gas tank. Turbo tanks have baffles

A lot less of a pain than tuning megasquirt, and a hell of a lot easier considering you need a $300 wideband 02 setup to do it where chopping in a smec harness is plug and play.

Gas tank is a non-issue as long as keep the gas above 1/4 tank.
