i found a rampage thats in really nice shape but has been sitting because of a bad motor for dirt chaep. my question is what are my opps for putting an 88 or 89 t1 setup in it. the only thing i'm concerned with is the wiring. not sure of the year of the rampage yet will, find out monday. hoping to keep the factory guages if possible. i'm sure someone on here has done this. what should i start looking for in the jyard ? i have an 89 t1 2.2 and the computer from a shelbyz. i can still go get the harness but its not in that good of shape, or is there some other harness i should be looking for? any help is good help.

Not impossible.. I put an '89 2.5 turbo engine into my '83 SC.. Used a wiring harness from an '89 turbo van, had to splice the wires to the '83 SC's engine bay bulkhead connector. Put a fuel pump in the tank, run power from the engine bay to the fuel pump.. Not all that hard. And yes, I kept the early (1983) gauges..

What ecu do you want to run SBEC SMEC or the LM? What part of pa are you at?

if it were me id grab an 89 turbo caravan harness..the whole thing nose to tail..this way you have the fuel pump leads as well as extra wire to wrok with....in thory you could use the harness as is un cut if you wanted to get a little more creative

The manual out of the mini would be a very good option eather a 89 A555 or an 90 A568. Might want to find a TBI omni for parts like the gas tank.

88 and up were TBI so you can grab one of those tanks and put in a turbo fuel pump. You could also use a tank setup from one of the turbo L bodies.

Hell, I have a turbo pump in my '83 carb tank. Works fine, just keep it up over 1/4 tank when cornering hard.

looked the car\truck over today, pretty rotted out wher the front of the rear springs mount. don't think i'm gonna buy this one, but would of been cool though.found an 88 omni in the paper today , might go check it out. should be an easier swap. all the turbo dodges in this area are pretty beat up on, so thought i would convert an N\A that has a nice body.

88 Omni's are VERY easy to turbo.. Helps if it's an auto as you get the bigger axles that way.

it is an auto. has a new rad, brakes all around. black with grey int. told over the phone the bodys flawless, we'll see. $400. needs tires. will my crabs fit with the 205-55s on them? theres also a carbed glh down the road not sure of the year blue with all the ground effects still attached. owner told me it was stolen from him years ago and in a police chase. two of the rims are busted, rear axle mangled and one lower control arm damaged. anything special about the engines in those cars. head any good? has the nicely rusted chrome valve cover.

The engine in the carb GLH just has a milled block to bring up the compression and different cam sprocket. Nothing too special, the suspension is a upgrade over the normal omni's though. Does the GLH have 5 lug? The normal omnis only came with 4 lug so you will have to do a hub swap to run the Crabs on it. A good thread on suspention.Neon struts adapted to l-bodies (possibly others)
You can also upgrade the breaks, swap them off of the cars or vans. That upgrade is normally called stops like hell(SLH). Good page on it. http://minimopar.knizefamily.net/perf/brakes.html
