I have a Stage 5 (?) FWD Performance SBEC in my 91 TI Daytona. While dialing in a new Manual Boost controller last Saturday, I accidentally had the hoses set up wrong. I let the car get to operating temps, and off I went.

I nailed it in 1st gear, and I watched bug eyed, as my factory boost guage almost wound all the way around!!!!!
I summised that the hoses were wrong, put them on correctly, and now have this MBC and Hi-performance SBEC'd car set at roughly 16psi max Boost.

Question: Whereas my TII cars let me know suddenly and abruptly (violently!) that the car had reached the factory cut off level of Boost....why didnt the TI car cut off? Hell, it felt like it wanted to gove 30+ psi! I was amazed! It just kept going and going! No cut off in sight...

And last...how high can I set it without hurting the car?? I havent installed my AF guages and new Boost guages in the A-pillar pods yet...maybe next weekend. Until know, relying on the stock Guage.

Any input appreciated...

^He should have +40's with that cal, what is the static fuel pressure?

There is no "cutout" for the Stg 5 FWD computer unless you asked for one, its around 29.4psi since you are now using the 3-Bar map sensor. Give us more info so the car can be dialed in safely, I hope a large intercooler is being used.

Exhaust is 2.5 already, Hi-flow Cat, Bossi endtopf. I got it on a stretch of the A-70 today...holy crap! Solid, and FAST 16-17psi...no probs! I want it to pass ASU (Emissions) though, thats why I am hesitant about much larger injectors, that they will make the Car run "dirty", foul plugs, etc. Plus, with 6$ a gallon gas.....need I say more?

Don't run it high boost anymore, unless you want a dead engine.

With a +40 injectors cal and running only stock injectors, you're running very lean.

I am waiting on someone to get back with me on an offer of bigger injectors, fuel rail, etc,etc (hint! Hint!) so I will set it at a safe 16psi for now.

16psi is pushing the stock injectors pretty far, I would run 10psi to be completely safe. What's the fuel pressure set at?

I replied yesterday.

Injectors, ICs, fuel rails, GLH's parts, etc

"I'll knock $5 off. $75 + shipping.

I recommand to have the injectors to be professionally clean, because they been sitting around for quite a while."
