Alrighty, I bit the bullet and ordered some 803 Injectors from FWD Performance. Meanwhile I was eyeing their computers. The car isn't intercooled, but they say they can run 14 pounds of hot boost. But how is the quality of their work? Forward Motion has Mopar Performance Computers, but for the hotair models its only good for 10 pounds. I'm more worried about reliability then balls out power at this point. Thanks in advance...

Btw, you could of got those 803 injectors for alot cheaper here on the forum as they are stock 27lb injector replacements.

Go to the junkyard and find a conquest/NPR/ebay intercooler or an srt intercooler on the srtforums for about 100 bucks maybe even cheaper.

what Turbo dodge do you have?

Dez, the 803's are not 33 lb replacements. That would be the 804''s

Why did you order 803 injectors? They are no better than your stock injectors, except newer.

I have an 85 Daytona Z, 5 speed, sunroof... I ordered the 803s because from whats been deduced and what I've been told the car had a bum injector. Not to mention with 160,000 miles it probably wouldn't hurt to swap them all out... So I could have picked up one single remanufactured fuel injector for anywhere from $50-$80, or ordered 4 'Brand New' (Albeit probably a decade old, NIB) 803s for $130 and not have to worry about the rest of them. The car has been obcessively mechnically maintained with oil changed every 3000-3500, which is why on a compression test all four cylinders squeezed within 3 pounds of one another and the car doesn't so much as puff anything. Maybe in a year or so I'll yank the engine and rebuilt it and go hog wild and come back with 24 pounds of intercooled boost and knock my transmission's input shaft from this mortal coil. But for the time being, I'll be happy with bit more squeeze and probably the cleanest Dodge Daytona in the state. My ultimate goal is to set the car up for cone dodging (Simply because I'm a Domestic/V8 Guy and I don't see a FWD being much of a drag threat...)

803's are 30lb'ers. The early computer haven't been de-coded much to use Dcal on them. You can run the T1 motors at 14psi and on computer controlled boost should be ok for reliability. But it's not ideal and the power increase won't be that great. You'd be better off saving for a T2 intake, turbo, stock T2 puter and the other little bits to convert to T2.

My 87 Yorker went 14.3@96 on street tires with a T2 conversion and 14psi of computer controlled boost. A buddies 85 Yorker went mid 16's with his T1 setup and alky injection and the same amount of boost with better exhaust. It's just you make much more power with the i/c.
