Correct me if I'm wrong... which I probably am... but I read a couple years back the early 2.2 Cars (I.E. mines an 85) had distributors that were smaller in diameter than the later cars (I want to say 87 and up). Also, they were interchangeable and the larger distributor was less prone to spark scatter?

They are not interchangable. It goes 84-85 and 86 on. I got couple for sale 85 style if need one or two. You need to keep a 86-87 logic module with the wide and the smaller with the 84-85 logic module. It the hep that different between the two.
