hehe.. Today on my lunch break (1 hour) I converted my Horizon from SMEC to SBEC.. hehehe.. I pulled the pins out of the SMEC plug one at a time and put them into the SBEC connector. Built a new injector harness to support the sequential injector firing (I used the more modern 90's plastic injector plugs.. I LIKE those things!). Took some troubleshooting when I got done to realize the power board used to supply power to the coil on the ASD relay (logic board supplied ground to the coil.. Weird). I simply tied that to the big blue ignition lead. Also handy having a scan tool when dealing with a SBEC car, as you can't just clear the codes by unplugging the computer. And the check engine light wouldn't go out till I reset the maintenance reminder with the scan tool.. heh..
Anyways, the car runs great still. Hard to tell if the idle is smoother with the sequential injection, because it's got such bad wrist pin knock that it sounds like a diesel at idle.. haha..
