coil question

i have 91 t1 spirit and it doesnt have a round coil, it has a square one that has a plug in it. is there any upgrade for this type of coil? or am i stuck with the stock kind? also whats the square coil called?

coils are pretty much interchangeable

the square style was theoretically an improvement over the round oil-can coil

generally our OEM coils are adequate for stock or moderate performance; if you want something better (e.g. for high boost or a high CR NA motor) there are may options - I use an MSD Blaster 2, which is a good coil for the money. there are better coils of course - they are more expensive too

before you worry about the coil, make sure you have a *quality* cap, rotor, and wires = otherwise a better coil is kinda friutless
