I'm redoing the vac lines right now, and I'm wondering if I should keep the map sensor vac line connected to the solenoid, or will it cause problems to run the vac line from the map directly to the intake manifold?

the MAP is connected to the solenoid so that the computer can occasionaly engage the solenoid and use the MAP to reference outside air pressure to use that as a baseline

you need to leave it connected; I suggest hose clamping each and every vacuum line to prevent them from popping off under boost at in-opportune moments... DAMHIK
