aluminum fuel line and 3/8" filter questions

Is 3/8" aluminum fuel line safe to use with the fuel pressure our cars produce?

Also, since I'm going to upgrade all of my supply line to 3/8", what filter should I use that has both 3/8" in and out barbs? (The stock has 3/8 in and 5/16 out I believe)

summit sells the russell brand that is rated to 250 psi but the also sell their own brand that you would have to check with their tech support on. they also sell the summit brand in stainless for 32 bux for 20 ft.

Well I've already got aluminum line (unknown brand), so that was why I was asking. Surely if their stuff is rated to 250 psi, then the stuff I have should handle 60-70.

I just installed 3/8" Summit aluminum fuel line for the feed/return on my Spirit R/T and haven't had any problems with it. You will also need the Summit insulated line clamps to secure them to the underbody.

What about a filter? Is there a filter out there similar to ours with both 3/8" in and out?

I ditched the stock filter setup and used a Russel inline filter that uses 6AN in/out. Filter is now underhood just behind the passenger side motor mount.

if you're questioning the generic metal line that comes from parts stores, they're fine for PSI. Think about the brake system? Know how many thousand PSI they take when you slam the pedal? Same metal line material.

Actually, brake lines are steel, and can see 2000 psi in a hard stop.

For the filter, I use a GM TPI filter (I can get the number later, if you want) with the -6AN to Saginaw adapters from Summit. That way, I have a $10, 10 micron, EFI safe, filter. The -6AN inline filters from Summit are usually setup for carb applications with a 40 micron filter. You really want 10 microns to keep small particles out of the injectors.

I'd rather not have to use any AN stuff. Isn't there just a factory replacement filter for any car that had 3/8" in and out?
