I would like to know if it is possible to do a TII conversion but modify it slightly to be able to use the stock TI computer (I have an 85 Daytona). I would use the throttle body from my TI so I could use the 2 wire AIS. I would use a one piece TII intake manifold, TI injectors (except I would use TII injectors for cylinders 1 and 2 since they are programmed to run lean to compensate for the log manifold), and the rest would be the same as you would normally do for a TII conversion. The reason for this is simplicity, cost and I want to use the aggresive spark timing of the G-head calibration verses the mild spark timing for the swirl head from the 86-87 TII LM's.

If I am completely wrong about this, let me know, please. I have read enough to be dangerous but confused is probably a better word for it.

Eventually i would like to use an Eprom burner to modify the chip, so I think I would want the 85 LM for that anyways. I don't want to buy a fancy MP TII computer for now and then wind up using my 85 computer for re-calibrations in the future (waste of money).

When you say TII conversion what changes will you make? If you're sticking with the T1 TB but the '88 intake why bother? The '85 TB is smaller than the inlet of the '88 intake. You will have to modify the turbo's inlet as the '85 turbo has the TB bolted directly to it. There are many other things that make a TII a TII including an intercooler etc.

Check out this link. It's a complete how to do what you're trying to do.

I ran my T2 Omni with the OEM T1 LM it had in it when I purchased the car. The only problem's I saw were 2k RPM idle, and lower boost. Other than that, it behaved just like it was with the GLHS Stg 2 LM in.

Won't injectors 3&4 or 1&2 lean out though?

I want to use the '88 intake so I can use an intercooler. It does flow a lot better, too. I suppose your right about the 85 TB being too restrictive to see any gains of the '88 intake. I really didn't understand how different the TI TB is compared to the TII TB until I took a closer look tonight. I don't think I would go through the trouble of trying to keep the TI TB.
So, the next question is, can I use a TI AIS in the TII TB?

anokabball24: was your omni using an AIS or did you just adjust the throttle so it stayed open slightly (turn the screw in a few turns).
