The computer died on my 88 shelby Z TI auto, I swapped it out with a 88TII manual SMEC and it fires up. I'm sure the fueling isn't going to be correct with this computer in it so I want to get the correct computer. I have another spare here but I never labled what I pulled it out of at the yard. How can I identify it? it has a sticker on the outside of it with the # 5293 then 982 bigger then 1717 really small. The first # may be 5283 as it was hard to read. Anyone able to look these up? Thanks in advance.

982 is from a 1988 2.2 T1 Daytona (not sure if it's manual or auto, though).

Well I tried it and it's dead also, though it would be good since the car I pulled it from was rearended. I put the other SMEC in there just so I can move the car around. I may post this as a seperate thread but has anyone done anything with the code for a 88 2.2 TI auto. I'd just want a stock cal burned to a chip. When I last looked nobody was really doing anything with it because if people were doing a cal they would start out with the TII one to begin with. I'm picking up a 88 shadow TI auto so I think I'll pull the SMEC out of there and put it in the daytona to sell it.

The stock cal is out there if you just want to burn it to a chip. Or, since you have 2 88 T1's already, just pull a chip from one of them and put it in the T2 computer...

I didn't think about that, would be a pain ripping out the potting compound though. I just picked up a 88 shadow to use as a Ice racer next winter so I'll pull the computer out of there and put it in, then use the socketed SMEC for a "hot" call for the racer
