I'm going to need to replace all of my vacuum lines and all connectors and orifices.

It is the Orifices that is the point of this question. What size are the orifices? Can they be fabricated and if so what are the specs?

The orifaces are re-usable if not broken, if broken, look for the brass insert. It can be glued into a plastic hose splice from the parts store. There are several different sizes used in the cars over the years, don't know the specific #'s, but they were color coded--yellow, lt blue, orange etc. I got a few needed ones by scavenging what was left of vacuum line leftover at the boneyards. I think some may be available at Napa.

Unfortunatly all of the vac lines from my project were distroyed when they removed the head. I bought the car with the engine in pieces. It's been machined and the parts gathered for the rebuild. When it goes in the car I want to do a custom routing of the vacuum lines. I guess I'll check with the dealer or try to locate a turbo engine compartment at the bone yard.

Or you could doa search here for "orifice welding" and I'm sure you'll find what your looking for.

I would love to locate these but I can't unless I know what size. Making an orifice is as simple as locating a piece of brass the proper diameter and drilling a small hole in it. But what size is the hole? I'm guessing 1/32" or 1/16". I don't think a 0.20 is right because that's 1/5". I think it should be much smaller but I don't know yet.

I know that when I replaced the 'T' connector for my PCV valve I used a 'stock' unit. However it still didn't run right. The actual unit has an orifice in it. This if for my TBI and the orifice is 1/32" or 3/64" in diameter.

So the question is, what size are the three different orifices that I find on the vacuum diagram for the '87 Shelby Turbo Z.

The orifices range in size from .019" to .035" depending on color. Just scour the J-yard for them. Basically all it does for the turbo is make it spool faster. Not really needed. But the J-yard is the best place to find them and where they go exactly.
