ok im running 20 psi on my 2.5 mopar performance sbec in my daytona do to a electric cut out eliminator, dsm 390cc injectors and a 255lph walbro.

now i have an egt boost and a/f guage

My 523 doesn't have numbers on the timing window. its set to the middle slash, whatever that is haha.

I was reading and someone said to retard the timing to like 6* to start out with when running over the 14.7psi with the stock comp since it will not be retarding the timing for the extra 5 psi boost im running since it doesn't know. makes sense, anyone else try this.

2nd question is I have a hole drilled in my thermostat and a switch wired to the fan relay switch to ground it out. when im beating on the car i usually leave the fan on all the time, my temp guage doesn't really go past 1/8th to 1/6th the way up when its always running so i was wondering since its not up to operating temp if its running in closed loop still thinking its cold? it seems to pull the hardest the colder it is. what is all involved when running in closed loop besides running richer, where is the timing advance?

I cannot help with the performance end but can give you descriptions of operating modes from a Chrysler Training Manual.
Open Loop: This is the operating mode where the O2 Sensor is being ignored by the computer. The engine will always be in Open Loop when starting. If the engine coolant temp sensor indicates less than normal operating temp the computer will ignore the O2 sensor and run the injector pusle width from its look up table calculations which ignore Lambda parameters.
Closed Loop: This is the operating mode where the computer is correcting the injector pulse width to accommodate the O2 Sensor input.
Remember,Speed Density EFI Systems compute pulse width mostly from engine speed and engine load(MAP)
Closed Loop fuel calculation is essentially a fine tuning or constant correction factor to optimize the overall engine performance fuel economy and lower emmisions.
Acceleration Enrichment:This Mode represents the additional programmed pulse width adjustments and timing changes contained in the engine computers program. They are activated when the computer "sees" a sudden increase in TPS and a sudden decrease in MAP pressure.Activation of this mode should immediately result in a drastic increase in injector pulse width.
WOT: If the computer sees the TPS value at or near WOT the computer will ignore the O2 sensor and run the injector pulse width according to other sensor input values.
As far as pulling harder when cold,I am a former bracket racer and with the exception of my 72 Duster 225 slant six (LOVED HEAT) every engine I have seen has better performance when cold, especially Turbos.

ok but where is the timing advance when an engine is cold. is it advanced or retarded more?

does it not make sense to retard the advance acouple degrees if you are running over the set map pressure aka map clamp do to it not retarding the timing for the extra amount of boost you are running that the ecu is not seeing?

is there a set rule for ignition retarding under boost. eg. 1degree ever 2 psi or something?

Unfortunatly I am not into Performance so I do not know. I was only able to provide info on your Open/Closed Loop question.
Someone else is going to have to step up and provide performance info.Sorry
