I use the MSD single Soft Rev Limiter with a switch on the floor under the clutch pedal. Wires right into stock ignition. My class rules state only a "Single" rev limiter allowed so not a two step but it works like one as I still have the OEM limiter in the LM they don't know about. So two rev limits available . I have a switch (on the shift knob) to turn it off so I don't activate accidently.

I also used a potentiometer instead of the chips so I can adjust it from inside the car for varying track conditions.

Go for it!

You can get a 2-step rev limiter added to a custom cal...

I'd like to check out your setup next time I see you Steve. I just ordered a 2-step and it should be here next week.

Yes, if you always can trust the distance/speed sensor and all of the connections to not fail on you.

I thought about it but I didn't like not being able to change it at the track (I can change it while in the burnout box if I like).

It is an option you consider.....

Unless your 2 step in the calibration isn't based on the speed sensor like mine. I need to find out if I can add a speed based one and keep my non speed based one active. So I can have the speed based one set for launch rpms, the 2nd one set for 3k or so for WOT shifts and then my normal rev limit set for whatever.
