I'm sick of having to swap HEP coils at this point. The best I can get is a late starting HEP when the engine is cold.

I'm thinking of making my own with either optical switches or other hall effect modules from DigiKey etc.

Can anyone recommend a specific device? THe closest I got was : OHB900 however it works in reverse to our sensors... High when ferrous material is blocking the field.

(AFAIK)

Ideas on other conversions are welcome also.

PS: I've used about 12 different coils on the car by now, not satisfied with a single one.

Your car clearly has a problem unrelated to the HEP if it's chewing through them or they're all not working correctly.
