I'm starting a Rampage project and need to know why I need to change out the original tank for a turbo L-body tank? Someone said that there are baffles in the turbo tank, but what purpose are they in there for? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

If your fuel pump sucks air when the motor is in boost, it's pretty much buh-bye motor.

So you could just use the regular tank as long as you promise to drive like grandma on her way to the hairdresser.

I always figured it was to get a fuel return.

I still need some info on this, as I need to figure out if I have to buy another tank or just use the one I already have. I understand about sucking air under boost, but do aftermarket(Jegs,...)have these baffles or what? Thanks.

How can you tell a turbo tank from non turbo tank? The previous owner of my baron replaced the tank and this thread got me wondering if he put the right one in. The kid was a moron. Is there any way to tell?

I use a non turbo tank in my t2 Daytona. It is best to use a baffle tank with a t2 setup since the gas does slosh around alot. I just keep plenty of gas in there. But if you have invested a ton of $$ into the engine and plan to race.. get a baffled tank.

I don't plan on racing it, maybe get into it once in awhile. I just don't want to buy another tank and it might not have baffles in it. I guess I'll keep it above ahalf a tank all of the time, that should do it. Thanks.
