I just put a T2 computer out of a lancer into my CSXT and it is turing the check engine light on with a code 23 charge air sensor. After looking a t2 engine it looks like there should be a intake air temp sensor. I was hoping someone may have run into this and know how to fix it.

well the obvious answer is to add a CAT to your 88 TI 1-piece mani ; the place for the sensor is cast in the mani but the hole wasnt drilled and tapped by the factory on the TI manis

you will also need the electrical connector for the CAT and probably need to add the wires all the way to the computer and add the appropriate connectors intro the computer plug - unless for some weird reason the CSX-T had a TII engine harness already installed

I found what I was looking for I think. I found a diagram on mini-mopar resources and it looks like pin 21 is where it needs to go.

is that a logic module computer ?? (not a SBEC or SMEC) cuz if so I got a couple spare LM pins with wire if you need one to add...

It is a SMEC style computer. The only difference in the wiring for the computer harness between the T-1 and T-2 is the charge air temp sensor. I was able to find the wiring diagrams on the mini-mopar resources website and it was very educational. If you havent looked at that site I highly recommend it.

Basically, what the car is doing, aside from turing the check engine light on, is that it will run and perform fine at part throttle operation while it is taking readings from the O2 sensor but when you go full throttle and it stops taking O2 readings its performance is lack luster. The computer uses the temp sensor to determine the charge air density so it can map the required fuel. Without this sensor it doesnt have anyway to know how well the intercooler is working to reduce the charge air temp.

not really...
a cooler charge temp will allow a couple more degrees of timing advance if conditions are perfect. which isnt often given how bad things heat soak.
without the sensor, the computer simply wont give that extra bit of timing. its not about losing performance, but rather not gaining it.
