I have an 89 Dodge Daytona Shelby 2.2L Turbo II, what size are the factory injectors and what would I need to convert it to a T03/T04 of the same (factory) Trim size. Could I just turn down the boost or leave it the same or would I run lean?

Those injectors flow 33lbs per hr at 55psi.
Second part of your question is confusing .... like, "I have a beagle named Barney. How do I go about changing his name to Barney ... and will he still come when I call him?"

lol, if I swap my T03 for a T03/T04 turbo of the same trim will I have to upgrade my injectors if I run lower boost levels than i did with the T03...I think thats a little simpler...I could be wrong, my head is a maze when it comes to these things lol

in order to upgrade injector size, you also need a computer calibrated to use them. just changing a turbo will have very little effect fuel consumption, unless you turn up the boost. but if you are not planning on turning up the boost, what is the point of a larger turbo?

If you plan on turning up the boost past 14psi you'll need to get a performance computer possibly custom made for your app., 3 bar map and +40s or 450cc DSM injectors to safely run higher boost levels.

I just want to grab and install the turbo while I can hoping to get a little better spool up until I DO get the Stage 3 cal and supporting mods. Im looking to settle for 220-300whp FOR NOW. Later down the road once I get a second car for a DD Ill probably take the build as far as I can.

the engine computer doesnt know what turbo type is creating the boost

12 psi from a Garrett = 12 psi from a Mitsu = 12 psi from a hybrid, etc

so, as xratti stated, if you *don't* turn the boost up past the factory 'overboost shutdown' levels, then you can use the stock computer and stock injectors

actually with a stock computer, even if you do *try* to turn the boost up further, the computer will just shut you down anyways

haha I know all about overboost :-( Thanks for the information guys. Wouldnt the larger exhaust wheel of the T03/T04 spool the T03 Compressor side up quicker than a straight T03? Kind of like a large gear spinning a small gear. or am I going in the wrong direction?

a hybrid turbo is a T4 compressor mounted to a T3 turbine. a really bad idea if you ask me, but people do it anyway.

well a holset of course
depends on your setup really. for under 250 hp, your stock turbo is good. for under 300 hp, a stock ford T3 is good. beyond that I use a holset.
but the big thing is just to do the math and make sure you dont have a turbo thats too large, thats how you get lag.

well with my current set up Im spooling 12psi+ by 3200rpms and it begins spooling around 23-2800rpms which is why i figured the T03/T04 or T04 wouldnt be a problem to spool at a decent pace.
