Ok so it is bone stock but I have done the cheap stuff. Brand new rotor cap v-power plugs and wires. But I have never messed with timing and told it wasnt that hard on these old cars. I have an 88 daytona pacifica turbo and I am going to the stage 1 suggestions from forward motion. With the addition of an intercooler and boost controller. So what about this timing it says to set it 15deg btdc but I really dont know what that means or where to start. I mean once I do it it wont be that bad but just need to make sure I do it right.
I have had a little experience with the 2.2 and 2.5 this is my second Daytona but the first attempt at any amount of performance in the car.
Any help is appreciated thanks ahead of time. Oh and I couldnt find a sticky about it either.

Engine Timing And Belt Replacement MiniMopar Resources

Basically when you look at the top of where the engine and the transmission meet there will be a window. Every timing mark on the bellhousing represents 2 degrees. There might be numbers on yours(none on mine)

Ignition timing is 12 deg btdc (+/- 2 deg).
With the engine at normal operating temp you have to unplug the Coolant Temp Sensor
(2 wire connector near Thermostat) with the engine running(the cooling fan will come on and the Power Loss/Check Engine light will illuminate) this puts the vehicle in "Failure" and brings it to base timing so you can check/set ignition timing without computer control.

get a cal and some bigger injectors, and some free flowing exhaust. 2 1/2" dynomax is good. if you can afford the 3 " then go for it. you'll want more power later on anyway..
