I am new to turbo Chrysler's but I know that my 84 Laser has a unique wiring harness. I would like to upgrade this car but the only options I have in a local pick and pull junkyard is a 86 Turbo Laser and a 90 TurboI Daytona. The 86 Laser looks like somebody took a chainsaw to the wiring harness. The 90 Daytona wiring harness is all there and hasn't been butchered up. Is it possible to adapt the 90 Daytona wiring harness or am I asking for trouble?

you need the full harness when doing an 84. take everything underhood and in case from to back. then you put it all in your 84 and you are done. 85 and 86 can be adapted to a TII harness etc. 84 is a red headed stepchild with the wrong bloodtype that cant donate to anyone in the family

an 85 or 86 would be easiest to work with. i have a complete 85 underhood and interior one, but i cant be bothered to install it completely, thats way too much work. i'm just going to do DC ic kit and im happy,i dont need any other motor in my 84 laser

It really stinks that somebody cut up the wiring harness in the 86 Laser. The place that has it would only charge around $20 if wasn't trashed. I just bought a drivers side window and mirror from them and I only paid $25 for both pieces. The 90 Daytona has all kinds of parts I would like to rob off it but I need to upgrade my wiring harness first.

yes and then you have to changee everything, cant run the 84 motor on the 90 electronics that easily, not sure how you would honestly

What do you want to upgrade on the 84 Laser? I swapped my 84 Laser over to 85 wiring, it was alot of work, but much easier to troubleshoot and find parts for. The hardest thing about it was finding an 85 Laser with the same options to take the wiring out of. I do know of a guy that has a complete 85 Laser XE wiring harness for a fully optioned car. Let me know if that sounds like something your interested in doing and I can put you in contact with him. If you want to switch the car over to a 2.5L TI then it is possible to adapt the 90 SBEC harness to the 84 dash harness. It's not easy though and requires all the wiring diagrams and a fair amount of soldering.
