Well, I solved my problem. When I made up the harness for my car I ran the three wires from the MAP under the dash so as to make it easy to add a zener diode or for testing. After digging out these wires I noticed the tape on the ends looked banged up. After retaping them the car runs beautifully.
Either the sensor wire was being shorted to ground or to the 5v signal. I would suggest hooking a volt meter to the wires too see what is happening.
Through trial and error you will find one wire is ground, one is +5v and one is the sensor output. With the engine off and ignition on, You should see around 2.5v or so (if its a turbo map sensor). Engine at idle is closer to 0.5-1v, at full boost around 4-4.5v. If you are seeing numbers way off this check there are no shorts, otherwise the map may be defective.
Hopefully this will help you solve your problem
