kind of a stupid question but given the fact that the electronics in these cars are a little
older, what is the best type of scan tool for these cars, I have three of them and nothing newer. or is there a cable and adapter with software that i can use with a laptop.. one other question in the late 90s werent the dealerships able to reflash the sbecs or am i mislead there?

An OTC Monitor 4000 with appropriate software will handle all vehicles up to 1995.
There is a 3 in 1 Cartridge that handles Chrysler, GM and Ford.
If you can find the complete kit the cables for all 3 will be included.
With an aftermarket scanner you will not be able to access the CCD Bus connector so BCM/SRS/ABS will not be able to be accessed.
If you can find a used Chrysler DRB2 with the approriate software and cables you will be able to accesss everything.
Reprogrammable controllers were not available until 1996 with OBD2.
