Has anyone had problems with FWDP stage 3 running way to rich. Ok i got a stage 3 set up for +20 inj. I have a 2.5 with a S60.
I have my fuel pressure at 55 psi. and at WOT i get a a/f ratio of 10.0 at 15 psi of boost.
If i go Part throttle i have a a/f ratio of 11.5 at 15 psi of boost.
I thought it may have been a air flow issue so i got a larger better flowing FMIC, but no change.
My head is ported with 1mm over valves, ported intake, ported EX man., and a 52 TB. F-1 cam, hi flow cat and muffler.
Any ideas?
P.S. do you think i can drop the fuel pressure enough to get A/F ratio to 11.5 at WOT with out part throttle issuse?

id try lowering the fuel pressure just a bit to see what happens.
i have 2 stage 5 FWD cals and both of them start up realy rich, it pisses me off!
every time i start my van (even if i just had it running) it starts up and chugs and chugs and chugs, for about 30 seconds, then it finaly settles out... if it dosnt die a couple times in between chugging, and running right!
not to talk down FWD cals, they both are wicked in top end, run fine once the o2 sensor warms up, they just start rich, but no problems running 31psi on eyther of them.

Cory, I did you give an update: It's under the FWD performance section in the thread titled where's waldo and other things. You should have your cal in the next few days. BTW when you get time, call me.
The guy with the stage 3, yes, with +20's I would expect to run a "little" rich. Adjusting the FPR down should give you the desired results.
Minivan guy, PM your name, I'll look up your cal, and see if we can get your issue fixed to.
later,
Cindy

Come up to my place and we'll drive my red R/T that runs AFPR, +20s and 15PSI on the stock PCM. Or we could swap in my Stage 2 PCM, +40s and 3-bar that's going in my other R/T.....

Go real easy on trimming fuel. My 5 stage was at 15.7 at idle and had turned my fp to 65# still getting a lean at idle. I turned down the pressure just a bit too much, the air was much colder that morning than the prior time runs and bad things happened... I though the computer would compensate. I had a blast burning that piston though!!!!

I am just worried that with turnning the fp down i am going to run lean a PT with 15psi, not that i do a lot of part throttle. Just a few seconds to get on highways and passing. But what kind of A/F ratio did you have it set at that the colder morning was enough to lean it out?

I was at 63+psi then brought it down to 55 with the vaccum line off. I had some 20-22 psi blasts, I was running a 2bar map at the time since it would not idle with the 3bar attached. I figured the computer would be looking at the voltage of the 2bar map at 4.9v and would think that the turbo is boosting at 29psi and compensate AND RUNN TOO RICH(at 29psi the 3bar map would be sending ~4.9v. to the computer) But I could not keep my eyes on the guages much, so I suggest you get a co-pilot.
On a warm day I went to 29psi when the vacuum sv actuator vacuum line popped off and the car started skipping- that was scarry too, but once I hooked it up it back it was fine. James has sent over a new computer to try out since they found nothing in the code. Hope it gets here within a few more days.

If Cindy didnt get me all squared away today, I would be all over that. But, my new cal will be here by tuesday. She even hooked it up and socketed it so I can swap chips with little effort.
Thanks to cindy!

i've got a 90 daytona 2.5 turbo and i'm using a 90/91 fwd stage 3 computer. i have stock EVERYTHING else except the turbo which is hybrid t3/t4. i'm pretty sure i'm not running rich since the egt gage climbs steadily up to 1500F at WOT @ 10psi before I back off.
how the heck could you throw +20's on the same setup and not run 20% richer?
are we talking about the same computer? mines the 90/91 SBEC stage 3.

It is a stage 3 in the terms of 15psi. The computer is a stage 3 set up to run +20 and my mods, so no they are not the same.
