i have a 1990 daytona es 2.5 turbo

i'm going to need +40 injectors

i read on here a couple posts mentioning "dsm" injectors that may have the right flow rate to be used instead of +40 injectors

where do these injectors come from? eagle talons? lasers? exactly what cars, what engines, and if possible what part numbers?

can these injectors be dropped into my 2.5 turbo engine instead of +40 injectors? are they "high impedance" and wont work electrically?

what are the flow rates?

my local junkyards have lots of the 16V mitsu engines and they charge $7 each for injectors, thats a lot better than $160 for +40's!!

just thought I would correct amiturbo's misinformation. You need to run stock fuel pressure, the DSM injectors are rated at 450cc's at 40(might be 45)psi.

they will work but u have to use the rubber seals off ur old injectors cause the dsm top seals are a little to big and the little clips that hold the injectors on the rail needs to be removed cause they dont fit right but thats no problem.

hehe i am running a set of dsm 750cc injectors in the daytona, originally they are rated at 43.5 psi so in the daytona at 55psi that is something like 820cc or 80lb/hr, with a custom cal done by me they run awesome the stock 450cc injectors out of a 2g turbo talon and eclipse are green topped prett easy to spot they fit pretty good just have to use the little spacer that is on the bottom of the injector that holds the o-ring down that way it does not push up on the injector when you go to put them in the intake

Thought I would give some info, I just installed my injectors tonight. Plenty of oil and patience will get the injectors into the rail. Its a total PITA, but its worth the $100 I saved.

You will want injectors from a M/T 90-94 turbo DSM or a any 95-99 turbo DSM. M/T 1g injectors (90-94) will have a blue top and are 450cc@43.5bfp with B450L marked on the side of the electrical connector. 2g injectors (95-99) will have a black top and are also 450's, marked with MDL450.

All turbo DSM injectors are low impedance while all non-turbo are high impedance.

Eagle Talons, Plymouth Lasers, and Mitsubishi Eclipses are all have the same injectors within their year.

Blue tops have a single spray pattern while the black tops have a dual spray pattern. The dual spray is supposed to be sprayed toward the intake valves on a dsm

Ok I have a 88 Daytona, will the black top dsm injectors fit on my car with no problem? Or is there mods that would have to be done. Cuz I have a set of these injectors sitting in front of me right now. If I can use these then all I need is a SMEC right?
