I have an 87 T1 log all stock except for a boost controller. I will be installing a set of T2 inj. into it. How much more boost is safe to put in with the slightly larger injectors? The stock T1's are 27lb,and the T2 are 32-34lb. I am running at about 11 lbs of boost now. I know that computer overboost is like 14.5lbs and will shut it down.

i ran about 14 on my stock T1 with an exhaust. The computer will compensate for the increased boost up until the overboost cutoff.

I wouldn't run much more boost without an intercooler.

ive heard that running above 13 on the log styles is unsafe because it stacks up and cant flow through fast enough. if you blow her up you can put a t2 in

I have a modded log for intercooling that I'll install this summer. I'll put in the bigger injectors, turn it to 12 and see how it does.

If the boost stacked up, wouldn't it just make more pressure (psi) and cause the wastegate actuator to open up? ...Isn't this the same case with every turbo that makes any boost? If you had nothing for the air to push up against then you would have 0 boost, right?

so what you're saying is that 14psi is the maximum effective boost that you can run with a log?

Incase anyone is wondering.... I put a set of 32lb injs in, and am running between 13-14lbs of boost with no problems. I was running to cutout, but my A/F meter was in the red, so I turned it down some. I assume the last yellow bar is safe as that is what it was at when I was running the 27lbs with the computer controling boost. Been running the higher boost for a few weeks now with no problems...yet.

I agree, but disagree. Needless to say the rule is simple, more air, more fuel, more power. The larger injectors do flow slightly more rich, but only at idle, and wot when the computer is running on the chart, but the chart is set up for a preset boost. Increase the boost- increase the fuel. Besides, they are ony 32lbs.. they started useing those in ALL the 2.2 in what, 89? It is only an increase of 5lbs. Enough to make a difference, but not to much. Like I said befor, I'm not looking to build a hotrod, just get a little more out of it. Perhaps later on I'll build it for alot more power, at that point I'll swap the wiring over, go with a blow thru, etc.

I use to have a 86' LeBaron GTS that was bone stock this was like 6yrs ago....I didn't think much of it, ran it at the track and ran like a 16.4. I put 2.5" exhaust on it, NGk plugs, a boost controller and a boost gauge everything else was stock. Turned the boost up to 13-14psi and ran a 15.5 @87mph....which back then was pretty quick for being pretty much stock. The car was consistant as anything, it did not run lean at all. What exactly are you looking to get out of it?
