It's a friend of mine. He has replaced timing belt, alternator, all suspension stuff, supposive previous owner replaced fuel pump, under 30K original miles...here's what happens.

Start it up (starts quick), and full throttle it, and it will peg the tach. After that, it will cut boost/timing before 2800RPM. I tested his TPS, and it tests better than the new one from my job so I didn't sell it to him. He is getting a code 24 if I recall and we don't know what the hell it is. He checked his timing 3 times and says it's perfect (when the cam crank, and dist shaft all line up according to the book, and the ring gear on the fly shows @ 0, doesn't that mean it's perfect?) I checked his ignition timing, and it's right @ 12^BTDC. I have a 3.0, so I'm not familiar w/ the 2.2/2.5's. I referred him to the minimopar website for assistance, but he can't figure it out. any ideas you guys? Thanks in advance, rich.

so you floor it to hit the rev limit, and then complain that it does weird stuff? what happens if you DONT do that?
24 is the tps signal out of range code, which will cause it to go into limp mode just as you describe.

tps is good, I tested it at my job, and it tests better than the new one. The resistance change is gradual and smooth (no flat spots or out of range spikes). The new one was all over the place, I almost was tempted to defect it.
LOL

That code went away, but it is still doing it. I'm trying to get him to test fuel pressure.
