just been wondering lately, is running race gas then going back to 93 ok? or do you stick with one or the other? just figuring if i take it to the track, run some race gas then next time i fill up, put 93 in it again. the way gas prices are, if i cant switch back and forth, forget race gas hahaha

thanks,
nick

no problems switching back and forth, but you do need to understand that just puting in race gas without changing anything will actually make LESS power! In order to take advantage of the higher octane, you need to advance the timing and/or turn up the boost.

you can switch back and forth, just leaded gas kills O2 sensors much faster

It's possible to generate a little bit more power without changing the tune with a good oxygenated unleaded race fuel such as VP makes which will not destroy your O2 sensor. Just run your gas down below a 1/4 tank and put 3 or 4 gallons of 100-106 in. I run 112 leaded which whipes out my O2 sensors, but I've tuned the CSX (race car) with quite a bit of timing at 30 psi boost which is way too violent for the street anyway.

Switching back to 93 is no problem as long as you have not advanced the timing and you turn the boost back down to a safe amount for detonation not to occur.
