87 electronics it is then, is it really as simple as the sticky makes it sound?

What bin or cal file would i use for starters? I assume they made 87 t1 2.2L cars right?

I was being facetious.

Aside from my lighthearted mocking, yes, it's very easy.

You could run a t2 cal, you just need the charge temp sensor. The sticky shows how to go to 87 t2.

I'd say try one of the 87 t2 cals from the dcal group for starters. You could also look for blueberry 60 or turbonator cal. I personally run bb60. Also, chem2 makes scaling fuel for new injectors easy with the turbonator and bb60 cals.

I sensed the sarcasam, just couldn't tell where it was directed. The valley-girl speak threw me.

Ok, scratch that.... Don't ever call me Cher, or Dionne for that matter.

What I would do, if I didn't want to swap a T2 in is locate an '87 T1 LM, change the wiring & socket the logic module. Then, I'd burn an EEPROM with the '87 MP T1 cal. It's a good, reliable proven cal to start out with, and it's almost the limit of what you can do with a draw-through system SAFELY. Converting to T2 is a totally different boat, though. EEPROM's are a lot easier because you only have to buy one piece of equipment. Nate, if you haven't already, I'd suggest checking out this page: Russ W. Knize's Automotive Page

Look around for the electronics page. Use the pinouts to change the LM wiring; the sticky here is kind of confusing.

thanks for the great info.

Im really not looking at performance until i get the 80 fiesta ghia project going... Right now just maximizing cruising efficiency would be great by me!

so that 87 t1 LM is going to give me more adjustment options. Sounds great!

Yeah, like you're going to be able to stay away from turning the boost up once you have the option.... .

The 87 T2 probably has more support, but I've never run or looked at the 87 T1, so IDK. I'd imagine it's got to be better than 85/86.
