so i finally got my 86 daytona running (new fuel pump) now it runs fine but it wont rev over 3000 and i have a code 24 (throttle possision circut) and my limmited power light is on. could it be related to the code?

disconecting the battery for a wile will clear codes will it not?

Yes, if you disconnect the battery it will clear the codes, but if you are having issues with the TPS circuit and /or sensor then it will jsut come right back. A bod TPS will cause issues like you described, ie can't rev past 3K

try just barely pushing in the throttle. The fault goes to limp mode which is no boost above 3grand. So if you have those then it'll shut the car off. It'll allow boost under 3k which is fun if you have a grainger and a small turbo and can short shift the car quickly

if i snap the throttle wide open it does this. but if i ease into it i can get it to rev up like normal. but i mean really ease into it.

To test the sensor, hook a VOM up to 2 of the pins (I can't remember which 2) gradually move the sensor & watch the meter. It should change without any jumping. An analog meter works better for this, since it's easier to watch a needle than numbers. With the symptoms you described, it's probably the sensor, but it's worth it to check it to be sure.
