Your post did the trick.. James sent me a test version. I have to add another tach input circuit to my MS before I can try it, he set it up to use both sensors. I'll let you know how it went by this weekend.

yeah I know... but im not planning to move to MSII... if I dont have it running correctly my next step will be a 36 trigger wheel and a crank sensor, but first I want to see if somebody has it running correctly, maybe i am doing something wrong.

I will post some videos later.

Your Coolant sensor is acting like there a bad contact on. Post a Log of your engine running.

k I will do that... btw what happens if I disconnect the coolant sensor while the engine is running ? If that were the problem I should see more steady rpm's ?

James Cortina, one of the two developers of the Extra version of the MegaSquirt software sent me some test code recently. Took me a couple weeks to get around to testing it, because he actually set the code up to use both the HEP sensors. I had to build a second tach input circuit in the MS. Well I tried it out tonight. Fired right up on the first try, purrs like a kitten! Can stick with the single coil/distributor setup like your used to, can do wasted spark (that's the setup I tried, with a Neon coil pack), and it will do Coil On Plug (could get 4 of those '91+ coils and hook one to each spark plug..).
It will be in the 2.0.2 version of MegaSquirt-2-Extra, which should be out real soon.
