the whole underhood wiring harness. get one from the same year turbo car and it will plug right in.

You will also have to get the turbo computer(s) for your car and fuel pump/tank. It's not a simple job. It's much easier starting with a turbo car.

yeah, i've been looking at my car and a turbo car, and there's a lot of work to it. i can do it myself but if there's too much stuff to change on it, i'd rather just buy a turbo car. what do ya'll think would be easier?

If I was you I would do like I am with my 89 ES and find a turbo engine and get all of the parts that you will need. fuel pump from turbo car of same year, computer/wiring harness from same year car. There's a lot more that you have to get but I'm just searching for a wiring harness so its almost time to put it in.

good luck,
-Paul

It's very easy if you don't mind a little work. I converted an '87 tbi Daytona to '88 TII. Swapped the dash, underhood harness, fuel tank and pump. Everything so far has gone smooth. Haven't got the motor/trans in yet. Only splicing I had to do was for the wiper motor connector.

so, just underhood harness is different? not the dash harness? i thought the turbo cars plugged in at the firewall and that the tbi's plugged in inside the car, or is that just a difference in year and model?

if you get the same year wiring harness as your car then it just plugs in to the firewall and nothing under the dash has to be changed.

The '87 connected at the firewall. The '88 connects under the dash. Remember, this is a lm/pm to smec conversion. Also, if you are starting with an EFI car, you do not need to swap the fuel tank. FWIW, anyone looking to upgrade their fuel pump to a hp255 walbro unit, the hangar assembly in an EFI car requires no modification to accept the aftermarket walbro unit. It is totally plug and play. The old EFI pump is even a walbro. Perfect fit.

my car is an 89, already a smec system. the harness does go through the firewall & plug in under the dash, but i think i can swap it without having to pull the dash out. i hope so anyway, cause i just finished putting it in.
