I came into an edelbrock 5.0l throttle body too too cheap to pass up. I plan to use it on the frankenstien motor's intake but will the ford throttle position sensor work with TD electronics?

I think the problem will be with the idle air solinoid as it will not adjust down far enough for a 4 cyl to idle........and from what I remember the t-postion will work.

just eliminate the AIS motor, and set your idle. I drove my car 3 yrs without one and NEVER had one problem, except for cold mornings, when i mean cold, i mean -35c weather, at those times i had to hold the gas off and on for about 1min.

I've got an external ias motor in the works right now using a chopped up td throttle body and ias motor mounted to the base of a ford ais motor. Should be interesting.

Yep, will work. same ground, 5v vref, and signal (generally .9v to 4.7volts from idle to WOT).

Steve Calder tried this 10 plus years ago.....put alot of money in fabrication best I remember.....the conclusion was that the big throttle body cause poor throttle response and top end power did not seem to be much improved.....in other words the trade off was not worth the time/money.

75mm plus the 75mm egr plate. I know that the large tb makes 4/5 of f-all difference on an 8v headed motor but I'm gonna use this on my 2.4 headed 2.5 block motor.

I sell alot of mustang parts all day. I dont sell half as many throttle bodies as i could because i would rather my customers be happy with thier purchases than be pissed that i talked them into something that doesnt work.

I usually only recommend 70mm TB's for 5.0's and 4.6's that are stick shift and have some mods like gears, headers and cat-less exhaust. I could never see the need for a 75mm TB on a street car, unless perhaps it was a wild 347 stroker or 351 swap.

The need for a throttle body that big just isnt there on a 4cyl. (unless its a 600hp N/A application) You could probably get good money for it if you sold it, and put the money towards something more beneficial to your project.

This isnt a flame. Just some free advice.

it is the truth.. most V-8 5.0L mustangs dont need over a 65MM. 70 is as big as i would ever go for a street stang..
and turbo motors from what i can tell dont realy require a larger throttle body.. my stang made 306RWHP N/A with a 65MM throttle body. and 424RWHP on a 150shot with the same throttle body.. a 65mm throttle body flows a little over 685CFM a 70MM flows over 750CFM. i cant imagine what a 75MM flows and that is ALOT of air..
