Heres my prob. Every time that it rains my car runs like crap. I know that it isn't the cap and rotor. I just replaced them. It is really pissing me off. I can't drive the car if there is a chance that it will rain. When it happened the last time I checked The codes and the were 14 46 51 52 54. Thanks for any posts

Make sure the logic module still has a plastic bag over it, and that it's not torn.

Also make sure you have the plastic distributer splash shield in place.

Well I reset the codes last night and started the car up. Now it runs like crap. It misses and I can smell gas. I checked the codes and nothing showed up. So then I made sure that all of the plug wires were nice and tight. Still no difference. Then I pulled out the plugs to check them. They were pure black, but had no fuel on them. By the way the plugs, wires, cap and rotor are all new. I can't think of anything else to check. Any Ideas????????????????????????????????????????????? ?

Did you check your Ignition Coil? Check it out, that was my problem. Won't take care of that gaz odor, but might help with the misfiring.

The codes that your car came up with 14, 46, 51,52,54 all seem to be electrical problems.

I'd check your wiring from the distributor and make sure none are "nude" and/or unplugged. Check your O2 Sensor while you are at it. I had a code 52, changed the O2 and all was fine. Hope this helps

Remember when your Dodge was a problem, don't overthink :P

it's a dodge man...most don't run if a dog pisses on the tire,LOL
....probably coil/wires getting wet....for a quick fix till you get new coil/wires, shut car off, spray WD40 over the coil and wires-displaces the water...should clear it up short term....be sure not to do it while car is running...sparks+spray cans = fire!

Thanks for the replies. I already changed the O2 sensor so I know thats not the problem. I think I may have a broken plug wire, from when I changed the cap. I had to twist the boot on one of the wires to get it loose to slide it back and I may have broken the wire inside. I will be getting new wires when I get paid so hopefully that will take care of that. I also changed the coil about six months ago when I thought that was the problem of it having no power, but that didn't make a difference. I do have a feeling that it is the ECU and I will be making sure that it is water tight before I drive it in the rain again.
Thanks again for the posts. It is most appreciated.

get a little squirt bottle of water and start car and start spraying things like electrical connectors and plug wires and such, has worked for me in finding problems like this one.
