Naj, I had to order a HEP from a local parts supplier as nobody around here has one in stock. I should have it tomorrow and then I will know. Oh and by the way, I started the car after doing the ASD jumper test and it ran fine for about 15 seconds. I don't know if that means anything but I am certainly leaning towards the HEP as well. Did I say thank you? Well I sure appreciate the help! Thanks again!

A quick note, I rang out the wires back to the round barrel type connector at the battery and they meter out fine. So it is not in the wiring from the connector to the grey and black HEP plugs.

Let me know if you need the wiring and daignostics after you try the HEP.
Be sure the terminals are not corroded in the harness side of the connectors and that the fit is tight and secure.
You may want to clean them with an electrical contact cleaner and apply a little silicone dielectric compound to prevent future corrosion.

I did clean them with contact cleaner when I had them apart. Then blew them off with comp. air. No signs of corrosion. I don't have any dielectric grease. But it should be fine. A good thought though.

You can get a small thing of dielectric grease at the parts store. It's usually at the counter in little red squeeze thingys for $0.99. It's spark plug boot grease.

Well I didn't get my new HEP today. It's supposed to come tomorrow. So I went to the wrecker and managed to find the only dual wire hep they had. I was so excited I even found one that when I installed it I forgot to put the rotor back on and when I tried it I thought almost for sure that the SMEC was the problem (the HEP being used). I installed the rotor as I noticed I had forgotten it and "voila" IT"S ALIVE!!! Runs like a clock. So many thanks to NAJ and those the chipped in.

Glad it is running.
Never hurts to have a spare HEP.

+1 I always keep a spare in the glove box of my DD. I've had to change it on the side of the road once already.

Hey since your all on the subject, Anyone know which the HEP or the ASD makes a high low click noise when you turn the ignition key on? My car lost fuel and i'm guessing spark as well and disconnected then reconnected battery and makes that noise.

possible cause...symptoms of hep...pickup plate in distrubutor that hep reads comes loose from distributor shaft...causes no start...hard start, cutout while driving, etc... can be extemely intermittant and difficult to diagnose.

The ASD relay as a relay will click when the internal coil is energized. This happens when you turn the key on. But as zips said and NAJ told me it's more than likely the HEP if you aren't getting spark or fuel. You can switch out the HEP with another one or follow the tests and checks in this thread.
