I've been trying to use the Snap-on MT(?) 2500 scanner at work to help narrow down my loss of power@4-8psi condition(no codes) but I cannot get the correct readings from the scanner. The car is an '86 GLHS with a MP logic module. I have tried using the settings for an 86 GLHT with less than stellar results and also an 87 Daytona TII with poor results. I figured I would try the Daytona settings since the dealer supplement I have says to use the 87 TII diagnostic routine for many of the driveability issues. The readings I get are similar to this: coolant temp 1,300^, Timing stuck at 90^BTDC, O2 sensor reads 5 volts; etc. I have read through the troubleshooting booklet that is with the scanner but to no avail.

If anyone has any insight or can help me get this figured out I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Year = 1986
Engine = "E"

Some things like spark advance will not read right, the GLHS code is based off but slightly different then 86 Turbo I.

I only get a few sensor readings (O2,coolant,air temp)w/my snap on and drb. I mainly use for codes w/im too lazy to count flashes.This is on my S cars only. Id go down a year or try mex turbo w/drb if available. Makes some trouble shooting a pain
