If you measure at the center wire? Shop manual says it can be anywhere from 0.5V-4.5V. Mine is measuring around 0.85-0.9Volts at idle. Is there an optimum voltage this should be? I've been troubleshooting some idling/stalling issues that kinda comes and goes. I replaced both the TPS/AIS with some used spares that I had laying around. Problem went away for about a day and then what do ya know, on the way to the track it starts all over again. Thanks.

I just went out and tested that with my Shelby Lancer ('87 T2 electronics)

With the throttle fully closed and the car at idle, it measured 1.12 volts.

****, mine must be pretty low then. I wish I had a shop manual that actually showed what it should be. Both of the sensors I looked at showed pretty close to the same voltage, but that doesn't mean that both of them couldn't be bad. Thanks.

well. FWIW mustang owners that have a 0.8-4.5v rforward reading TPS they are supposed to be as close to .99 as you can get.. anything over 1.0 volts and the computer thinks you are hitting the gas...
dodge cars? dunno.

Dang it, somebody's gotta know what it's suppose to be set at. I've got a friend with a dodge Ram and his Optimal reading is suppose to be 0.75 volts. Another friend of mine brought his TPS sensor over and it was reading around 0.62 volts.
