thanks alot got it hooked up and workin good. now, that i have a baseline.

i need some help. my car doesnt idle. no vaccuum leaks anywhere, good gas, timing both ignition and cam are good. it wont idle by itself, i have to hold the pedal. when i do make it idle, the a/f gauge will hang out between stoich and rich which is typical, then the gauge will go lean and the car starts to kinda stumble and if i give it some gas it will come back and burn clean.....and so on it does it all the time goes lean and rich when its idleing.also, just a question....is it normal that the a/f gauge goes all the way lean when i let off the gas while in gear and let the motor slow me down??

its also normal for the AF to bounce back and forthe between rich and lean like that durring idle. the comp cant actually hold the AF right at 14.7 so it will go just above and just below, which will kind of "average" it out at 14.7 all cars do this for the most part.

your idle might be due to a clogged AIS motor passageway in the throttle body, a AIS that needs to be reset, or a bad AIS.
try resetting the AIS first by creating a large vacuum leak so the engine runs around 2000 rpm or higher, wait 1 minute, and disconnect AIS connector. shut engine off. reconnect vacuum leak and plug AIS back in. restart car. pintle for AIS should now be reset. if no change, then remove AIS and check to make sure there is nothing clogging the passageway. carb cleaner and a pipe cleaner will work well to remove any carbon or sludge . also note the pintle location. if idle doesnt improve then take the AIS to a chrysler dealer and have them check it. they have ( or should have) a tester that allows them to retract the pintle of the AIS. if the AIS checks out bad at the dealer then replace.
