I just splice into the wires that go to the connector that snaps into the connecter coming from the fan?

Splice into both or just one of the wires? If just one which color?

Use the shape of the connector to figure out which one to tap into.

Correct me if I am wrong, but can you just tap into the signal wire from the logic module to the Fan Relay with a simple switch? As soon as the relay sees ground, it should switch the fan on? No relays etc like you have shown?
