I have an mp computer, which I thought should increase the rev limiter to 6500, but mine still kicks me out at 6000, which leads me to believe the timing is too retarded is this correct, I really forget the difference between what retarding and advancing will do. Help please.

Thanks
jamie

I cant see timing effecting your rev limiter, but timing is crucial to good power and torque. Typically the more aggressive the advance is, (to a point), the more power you will create, but you are also more prone to tear stuff up, blow head gaskets etc.

I tend to stay somewhat conservative on timing because of 91 octane pump gas, but I could do more timing if I run race fuel, hench FWDs new adj computer may be a neat gadget to have when they are available for the TIIIs, the 87 T2 are available now I believe.
