87 LM with a 88 motor in a 85 chassis?

As the topic says, with '85 wiring, and an '88 motor, can I use an '87 LM?

Of course this would require adding a charge air temp sensor and upgrading late style throttle body wiring (ais/tps).

Sure, add to that possibly a couple wires for underhood map depending on computer and you are done.

Oh, yeah, MAP, forgot about that!!

Does any vendor sell a wiring kit for adding the Charge Air Temp and upgrading the TPS/AIS wiring?

The map should be just extending the wiring from the correct prongs on the LM connector to the engine compartment and attaching the correct connector. Right?

Dont have schematic in front of me but it was so easy I doubt anybody would sell it. I am looking for the site that used to show how. You will actualy be adding a couple of old LM pins to new computers plug, very simple.

Make sure your using an '86 on newer distributor
I know you said you had an '88 motor but just to be sure that you knew that the '85 Dist. is different

85's have the charge temp sensor. You should not have to add it.

The year of the motor does not matter. You can drop any one in and wire your connections up and it will work. Exceptions to your harness will be possibly the CTS and the additional 2 wires for the AIS.

There is a thread in the this section which outlines ALL changes that need to be made to pre 87 LM set-ups to re-wire to 87 (non L body) spec

Or just add the AIS wires later distributer and use a GLHS module.

I plan on utilizing a late style distributer, but can anyone tell me the EXACT reason this is necessary?

My '85 I was using as a daily driver. It quit running one day, after some investigation, I suspected the dizzy had a problem. To quickly get back on the road, I installed the complete dizzy out of my '88. It dropped in, fired up, ran fine.
