help! is i need advice on a hg

I need a headgasket in the next week. The only 2 I could find is a victor reins and a felpro. I heard vr is good but any here ever tried it? I waited 3 months with summit racing and they still haven't sent my mp head gasket. Which I know mp is the best! But I can't wait a year to fix my 86 shelby charger...so question is.. 20 felpro from az. Or 45 vr gasket?

Or you call up your local dodge dealer and have them order you MP head gasket?

never mind...i just ordered 1 from fwd performance.. those bastards at summit racing said mopar didnt have them! fwd just told me they get them from mopar like summit! 3 days i get it from fwd perf. and ive been waiting 3 months from summit! they are horrible. i dont recommend them grr..

FYI...
I worked for a Jeep Dealer for 15 years and every Chrysler engine and short block that was ordered for warranty repair came from Chrysler with McCord Gaskets.
That would lead me to believe they are the sub-contractor that manufactures Mopar gaskets.

Basically if you are looking for an aftermarket gasket then it seems logical McCord would be the way to go since Chrysler uses them but I have no experiance with McCord gaskets.
I am using an MP HG, the Felpro failed almost immediatly with an overboost issue so I will not use those anymore even though some said they were "redesigned".
I also went overkill after that and installed ARP head studs and I am an all stock 12 lbs boost VNT but I do not want to have anymore HG issues so to me the extra $100 for the studs was a good investment.
IMO a HG should not be part of your basic TD maintainance and since it is apart why not upgrade to prevent future problems.

Yep exactly why I was waiting 3 months from summit. The reason why I waited is because I got the valve cover gasket. Mp head bolts and timing belt from summit. Which only took about a month to get all 3 of those...so I figured it would of been here much sooner.. but yea I'm running 14 lbs so I don't want n e other gasket but a mp 1!

I never had any issues with Summit but it usually shows the estimated shipping date on the site.
You should have no issues getting the gasket from FWD Performance unless of course it is on "national backorder".

Well it did give a estimated delievery...which was a month and a half ago...then they change it to 3 weeks later...then again.. they changeed it to a month later. Its a bunch if bs from then. I'm done with summit. Altho I'm kinda learey on ording last night over the phone to summit. He didn't give me a order number or n e thing. Seemed shady but the number was on the website. Blah

If they were getting the HG from a Mopar supplier and it is on National Backorder they nor a dealer have no control over that nor can they give you a time when it will become available, only an "estimated" time as per Chrysler which is subject to change.
Happens all the time even with newer cars/parts.
I went thru this when I needed the Rollover Valve for my car.
Contacted Mopar in 7/10 and they told me it was backordered and is "supposed" to be available in 9/10, It was not available until 11/10.
I worked for Jeep for 15 years and if there is high demand and low production because of high failure or Chrysler is changing sub-contractors and production is delayed and all available stock is depleated the part is put on National Backorder and once ordered the orders are filled by date the order was placed.
We went thru this all the time, imagine being the owner of a new Jeep that needs a part and you have to tell this to a customer, "your part may not be available for 1-3 months, we will contact you when it is available."

Ryan, I bet dishman dodge has one, I know they have the 006's in stock. Us locals get enough of them for them to make sure they always have one.
